floral workshop on the cape

This autumn workshop on the coast of Massachusetts was a time of growth and learning for me. It’s important for florists to attend educational workshops so that we can continue to hone our craft and become better designers for our future clients! I was able to observe and put my new skills to work in a two-day intensive workshop hosted by three of my floral heroes, Gather Floral + Harvest Floral + Lin Floral Co. I’m honored to have worked with each of these designers as a freelancer and have grown to love and appreciate their craft.

On day one we constructed this beautiful textural arch with Meg from Harvest Floral, I loved getting to put my hands to work creating something I can only dream of. After many minutes of admiration and a delicious lunch we were then able to attend a bouquet breakout class from Sydnee of Gather Floral. I loved playing with the different shades of pink blooms with their movement and structure.

On day two we learned about centerpiece construction from Bree of Lin Floral Co, I looked around and found inspiration from the periwinkle wild asters growing on the banks of the river. I love taking inspiration from the color wheel to create vibrant and different takes on the standard floral arrangements.
